Dangerous Cheese is a Regina-based 80s tribute built around big hooks, polished stagecraft, strong visual identity, and a live show that feels like an event instead of background music. The mission is simple: keep the set moving and give people a night worth remembering.

This is not a loose nostalgia set with long resets and dead air. Dangerous Cheese is built like a no-mercy dancefloor machine, recognizable anthems, synchronized visuals, crowd-reading pacing, and five-second transitions that keep the energy locked in from one song to the next.

The result is a cleaner, more focused take on the retro-party format: fun-forward, visually sharp, and unapologetically designed for audience participation. It is an 80s tribute experience for rooms that want singalongs, spectacle, and personality.

Set lengths can be customized to fit your event. If your room works better as 2 x 90 minute sets, that can be done too.

Dangerous CheeseCurrent

Frontman, DJ, karaoke host, and creative operator behind Dangerous Cheese. Zubazz has been DJing since he was 14 years old and has been an active karaoke host since 2000. That experience is a huge part of how he reads a room, builds momentum, and keeps audiences engaged. He shapes the look, pacing, humor, hooks, and audience connection that define the show. He legally changed his name to Zubazz Awesome Read in 2019, because by then the name had already become his real public identity. He is also the son of Wally Read from Wally Read & The Goldtones, so the instinct to entertain and build a real crowd-facing music identity runs deep. Dangerous Cheese is his first professional band project.

Our First Stadium Gig

The Saskatchewan Roughriders invited Dangerous Cheese to perform at Mosaic Stadium for Family Day in May 2023. It was the band's first stadium performance—and seeing the Cheese on that screen made the milestone feel very real.

Dangerous Cheese was invited to play Riderville during Grey Cup Weekend in 2022, on the same stage headlined by Toque. Sean built the Dangerous Cheese drum rig higher than Toque's setup—because apparently even the drums needed the high ground.
